Every year in January, a huge gala fair is held during the festival of Makar Sankranti.The Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, is a major 12th-century Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath (Vishnu), Balabhadra, and Subhadra. Known as one of the four sacred Char Dham sites, it is famous for its annual Rath Yatra and unique wooden deities. It was constructed by King Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva. Satapada, located 50 km from Puri, Odisha, is a premier tourist destination on the Chilika Lake - Asia's largest brackish water lagoon renowned for its population of wild Irrawaddy dolphins. Meaning "group of seven villages," it serves as a major hub for dolphin watching, boating, and visiting the "Sea Mouth," where the lagoon meets the Bay of Bengal.
